Kim Michaelides - Creative Director

With a fashion designer mother and an architect father, Kim was always destined for a creative career. An early childhood fascination with beautiful clothes and delicious trims and fabrics, became a globally successful reality for Kim who has been the Creative Director of Melbourne handbag label, Spencer & Rutherford for the last 15 years.

Kim, a graphic design graduate, began her working life as an Art Director in advertising and design companies. After meeting Chris, she combined her creative prowess with his management, marketing and production skills to launch their very successful design company, The Designworks Group.

When a handbag was needed for a Designworks photo shoot, Kim designed it herself, and Spencer & Rutherford was born. She attributes the success of the label to her background in graphic design and marketing, and her passion for all things design.

Today, as Gloss Creative Director, Kim’s vibrant creativity, design savvy and insight into consumer markets is an asset to the company and its clients.
